This test is typically performed when the alleged father is deceased and there has been a post mortem performed. A blood or tissue sample from the medical examiners office must be sent to DNA Ireland. The test will prove the paternity of the alleged father to the child being tested.
Swab samples can be obtained from the mother and child. Blood or tissue must be submitted from the alleged father.
